Why did India get independence at midnight?

Have you ever heard of any assembly meeting in the middle of the night? Many people do not know the reason behind this midnight assembly. Lord Mountbatten consulted astrologers enquiring as to when would be the most inauspicious time to proceed with something. The astrologers informed him that the most inauspicious time would commence at 11:00 pm on the 14^th August 1947 and would end at 02:00 am on the 15^th August. Anything done during this period would be extremely detrimental to anyone or anything. And this is exactly what happened.

This is the reason why the British chose midnight as the time for granting India Independence. Many Indian astrologers tried to convince Pundit Jawaharlal Nehru that independence should be accepted at 10:00 am on August 15, 1947. But he did not agree. He argued that there was no reason to wait for 10 hours more, although it was a point well worth considering that when India had waited for her freedom for 1000 years, how an additional 10 hours would make any difference. However, he did accept independence at midnight, which ended in the partition of the country and the resultant bloodshed. Till today there is strife and enmity, and the feeling of servitude continues. This needs to be ERADICATED.
